So whats been happening in your world?

Hey!

Whilst I really should be doing laundry and preping for coming week of work I have decided to see how everyone was doing, I have to be honest I have not been on here for the good part of a year and had alot of catching up to do!

So here goes one more attempt to revive this thing I'm hoping this time I'll enjoy it more rather than thinking of it as a burden or chore!

May God save us from such ignorance, and provide guidance to those disillusioned souls.

I can sit here and write till my fingers turn blue but I feel like its useless,

Hiya!

I have been putting of blogging for a while like many things in life I keep thinking if i put it off for long enough it'll disappear and become the past, but deleting this blog even though its not that great I just couldn't do, yes I am aware of how sad that does sound!

So the last few months have been erm interesting and well hard work, but as one idiot keeps reminding me nothings worth it if you don't have to work hard to get it, (a flawed argument if you ask me but I daren't say anything for fear of being thought of as outspoken!)

I officially finished uni, it doesn't actually feel real, I keep thinking there must be an assignment due soon, not that I'm complaining I'm enjoying not having to stress about dissertations and assignments and patients.
Well for 2 more weeks and then its life as a tax payer, oh the joy!

So till I find something I want to rant about i'm going to go back to enjoying the rain , a book and my makeshift hammock!

Release me.................

This bank Holiday Monday I planned to:

work on my last few assignments (lets hope they are the last few!),
a presentation which I no longer have the tolerance or patience for!

Practise for another interview i might have soon sigh,

Go out for a run (that was the intention instead had a salad for lunch
followed by two scoops for chocolate ice-cream)

re-evaluate my life

this bank holiday Monday i am:

fed up, i didn't get the job i wanted to, and have had enough of
people telling me 'it'll be ok' and "maybe it wasn't meant to be"
or "they're are better jobs out there"
look I get it I've just had enough of people telling me the same thing again and again,
I've stuck a mental post it up there to remind myself to never say that to anyone.

really tired despite sleeping for over 10 hours, the hypochondriac in me is coming up with all sorts of aliments (swine flu not being one thou!!)

not really wanting to know of all the people who seem to have died over the last few days, I didn't really know them so do I really need to know? (yes I know it sounds insensitive but that's how I feel)

wondering what I would do if in 6 months time I didn't have a job, money and was being evicted from my home.

pondering about how life always is worse for someone else, I mean i could have swine flu, cancer and be a lot more miserable.

A friend tells me at least I have my limbs, what is someone meant to say in reply to that?
all I could muster up was you want mine?
I wouldn't support that response, especially since they've been hell and back for their country, sometimes i wonder why I ever decided to do what I do, I haven't a sensitive bone in me!

wondering when this so called wisdom is going to kick in, I've hit 21 damn it, I certainly feel about 30 but mentally still feel 6.

the dissing days

Just a quick blog to say yes i'm still alive, and moan about having too little time and too much to do :)
what I do best really!

The new year bought about joy and took it to, but all things considered it could have been worse (well if I keep telling myself that I will start believing it!).

Then came the "Oh crap I have 6 months of University left" (when the sinking feeling started) the realisation that I have a dissertation due soon, which i hadn't really started and the endless number of assessments, assignments, practical exams that I was supposed to do.

So I sit here 4 assessments down and about 15 to go!

Whilst i won't be blogging, unless i really need a break from spinal cord compressions or patients (have faith, not a real one just yet!) or just life in genenral I may post something or just read all your blogs!

on a side note felt pretty special when I got this pic on a card to then watch Wossy on friday night and thought well it could be worse!

so till the dissertations in
Adios amigos!

Burp it out

To play you'll need:

a kid
a grown up (who has childish tendencies)
two fizzy drinks (for the adult fizzy water to look grown up!)
a mode of comunication if your not near one another
a watch

you can play with anyone but it seems its frowned upon in certain circles!

The kid and you have a minute to fill with as many burps and belches as you can , table manners no longer apply neither does any from of ettiqute.

The games you can play; alphabet burps or the days of the week, months of the year, songs... keep going till your msucles and tummy have had enough.

disclaimer: casues excessive laughter which may lead to snorting or having fizzy water expelled from your nose (don't say i didn't warn you)

May also cause synchronous diaphragmatic flutter
in babies usually turning them upside down stops this condition. (not generally advised thou!)

Happy belching!

O woe to me!

Contrary to popular belief I hate being the centre of attention (ok hate is a strong word I dislike being the centre of attention like say if its my birthday or if I’ve done something I don’t want other people knowing about , I’m never happy!)

Now I’ve just learnt that for my 21st a friend has decided to hold a surprise party, inviting pretty much everyone I know bar a few of my closest friend cause she doesn’t really know them.
I don’t really know her that well, ok yes, I’ve spent the last 5 years getting to know her but even still its more of a convenience friendship than anything else (I sound like such a nice person don’t i?)

Don’t get me wrong I love the gesture but its not really how I wanted to spend my 21st , social situations which involved my friends and family are ones I have avoided all my life, and don’t intend to begin now.

So I booked two weeks off and am going away, when I get back I’ll have exams and then fingers crossed I’ll have a job waiting for me, so all in all I’ll be able to avoid the whole month.

Is that mean?

Should I just tell her now and don’t really appreciate the gesture, see I worry that if I tell her I’m not happy then she’ll just go and do something else, and I don’t want to do anything with her.

Why can’t people just leave well alone and let me live,

And they say you’re too ungrateful that’s why you’re never happy.

The things.....

that are irriating me...........

  • Idiots who want to kill themselves and use the tube, its horrific for all involved, i know i'm meant to be sympathetic but honestly i feel like i've seen enough. STOP ruining our journeys home!!
  • FWD's i don't read them so don't bother sending them to me!
  • the battery life on my phone, it lasts for about an hour even when i've gone and bought a new battery i think , i think (hint, hint christmas idea) i need a new phone!
  • the X-factor, come on britain come up with something new!!

that i'm liking.......

  • christmas!
  • itunes vouchers :)
  • marmite!
  • the non-alcohol ball (although i never managed to go i loved the idea!)
  • Paramedics

that i'm trying not to think about........

  • dissertation-for obvious reasons
  • the thought of having to look for a job soon
  • University being over in about 6 months and having to go out into the big bad world, start paying taxes and acting like a grown up.
  • money

Jimmy Carr on Richard Dawkins

The comedian tells how the Oxford Don and evolutionary biologist made him question his faith.

Its difficult to argue against people who have a strong dogma. Its much easier when you've got someone like Dawkins fighting your corner.

I've been contemplating this for some time and I agree with him, its alot easier to believe in anything if you've got a strong character fighting your corner, but that means you've got a scapegoat, somones got your back. Religion doesn't work that way, I strongly believe faith is and should be a personal thing, your faith and reasons behind why you follow something is personal.

This isn't an attack on Jimmy Carr at all, what I'm trying to say I totally understand, lifes alot easier if someones had a crack at all the tough things before and told you this is how things are.

I do wonder what religion I would have been had I not been born into a muslim family, I am grateful but like all of us wonder if my search for God later on in life would have been easier if I wasn't handed Islam on a plate. Never grateful me!

I had some good charcaters fighting my corner so it was alot easier to stay Muslim, it made sense in my little "wokred out" life. Its when things begin to go pear shaped when those guys fighting your corner don't help, and at times can make you run as far away from the religion as possible.

When you have a belief system, you'll ignore any evidence against it until that evidence becomes irrefutable. In the end Dawkins proved to be my irrefutable evidence.

I couldn't have put this better, yes perhaps my level of faith can be questioned if I myself am sitting there thinking well yes I get the beliefe in God but then why not just be Christian or Jewish why Islam?

Then there's the other side of it reaching that level of understanding and then beginning to piece back those years you've wasted and restarting all over again, but thats the beauty of God no matter how many times you turn away He's still there when you hit rock bottom and saying otherwise would be doing great
injustice to Our merciful creator.
